Who We Are

We are a whitewater rafting company located in the heart of scenic Colorado. Back in 2010, our founders, Jack and Collin West, were just two regular guys pushing pencils in the office. We were like caged wild animals, and we knew things had to change. That's why we founded Dry Oar, to give others the same outlet that proved a lifesaver for the brothers West: unique, custom whitewater experiences to get away from it all and really connect with nature.

Our Services

We provide gear and tour guides for customizable river experiences. Want a wild, whitewater experience down the Buena Vista? We've got you. Prefer a calming scenic tour on the Dolores? Consider it done. Select an Adventure Package below, or mix and match to create your own.

Adventure Packages

The Beginner Package is family-friendly, for old, young, and every age in between! If this is your first time rafting, or if you're just not completely comfortable with the water yet, this is the package for you. The price includes cost of rent for all equipment, tour guide fee, and a free campfire meal!

The Intermediate Package is very much like the Beginner Package, only you have the option of selecting a rougher river tour and may opt out of a tour guide if desired. It includes cost of rent for all equipment and also includes a free campfire meal.

The wildest package for our most experienced users, the Expert package is not for the feint of heart! On the Expert Tour, you'll careen down intense whitewater rapids along some of our most challenging rivers. This package includes cost of rent for equipment, optional tour guide fee, and a free campfire meal.

The Area

Colorado is a state in the Mountain West subregion of the Western United States. It encompasses most of the Southern Rocky Mountains as well as the northeastern portion of the Colorado Plateau and the western edge of the Great Plains. The region has been inhabited by Native Americans for more than 13,000 years, with the Lindenmeier Site containing artifacts dating from approximately 9200 BCE to 1000 BCE; the eastern edge of the Rocky Mountains was a major migration route for early peoples who spread throughout the Americas. The word "Colorado" comes from the Spanish word for "colored red." (source: Wikipedia)
